Desktop contact & contactless reader/writer with biometrics

EasyFinger is a multi-interface smartcard reader/encoder, compliant with PC/SC standard, and featuring Sagem MorphoSmart CBM fingerprint reader.

Thanks to this biometric sensor and its contactless interface at 13.56MHz, also featuring 2 SIM/SAM and 1 ISO smartcard slots, EasyFinger meets any requirement in authentication or identification applications, either government or private.

Features of the Biometric subsystem

Sagem MorphoSmart CBM

Fingerprint module, suitable for enrolment, authentication (1:1 or 1:2) and identification (1:N).

  • Optical sensor : 500dpi, 8bits per pixel, surface 13mm x 20mm,
  • Tunable capture quality and FAR (false acceptance rate),
  • Identification mode : internal database stores 1000 templates, 1:N verification in 1 second or less,
  • Authentication mode : 1:1 or 1:2 match in 0.8 second or less,
  • Enrolment mode : 3 to 10 captures per finger ; the exported minutiae is less than 170B -storing 2 fingers is possible even on a small capacity memory card.

EasyFinger offers direct access to MSO CBM for Sagem's driver and MorphoSmart SDK (USB hub integrated in the device).

Features of the PC/SC subsystem

Contactless interface

  • Base station (PCD) compliant with ISO/IEC 14443 standard (1, 2, 3 and 4, both type A and type B),
  • T=CL protocol embedded in coupler's firmware (256-byte frames),
  • Supported contactless smartcards (PICC) (partial list) :
    • NXP MIFARE Classic et MIFARE Plus, MIFARE UltraLight, DESfire, ProX, SmartMX,
    • Infineon SLE66, STMicroelectronics ST19, Atmel AT88,
    • S.T. Microelectronics SR176 et SRiX, ASK CTS256B et CTS512B,
    • Inside Contactless PicoTag et HID iClass (numéro de série seulement),
    • Calypso (incl. Innovatron radio protocol « 14443-B' »)
    • Tags specified by NFC Forum : Type 1 (Innovision Jewel or Topaz), Type 2 and Type 4,
    • NFC objects or mobile phones running in 14443 card emulation mode (standards ISO/IEC 18092 and 21481).
  • RFID transmission : 13.56MHz carrier, baudrate 106, 212 or 424 kbps (PCD mode - ISO/IEC 14443 standard),
  • NXP/Philips Semiconductors RC531 chipset, with CRYPTO1 stream cipher unit and secure storage of MIFARE keys,
  • Card operating distance : 0 to 5cm (depending on the card).

Smartcard interface

  • 1 standard ISO ID-1 slot (« credit card »),
  • ISO 7816 (3 and 4) standard, supporting both T=0 and T=1 protocols,
  • 5V or 3V cards (classes A and AB),
  • Baudrate : up to 115kpbs,
  • Gemalto GemCore chipset.

Synchronous memory cards (S=8, S=9, S=10) may be supported through specific software development.

SIM/SAM Interfaces

Only on CSB-HY80

  • 2 ID-000 slots for SIM or SAM smartcards,
  • ISO 7816 (3 and 4) standard, supporting both T=0 and T=1 protocols,
  • 5V or 3V cards (classes A and AB),
  • Baudrate : up to 115kpbs,
  • Gemalto GemCore chipset.

USB PC/SC interfaces

  • Standard USB CCID profile, compliant with PC/SC version 2 specifications,
  • USB 2.0 full-speed (12Mbit/s), USB 1.1 compliant, external power block provided,
  • PC/SC compliant driver for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 (32 and 64 bits),
  • Supported by PCSC-Lite open-source PC/SC stack and driver on Linux and Mac,
  • Embedded APDU interpreter, giving easy access to memory contactless cards (MIFARE, ICODE and others) through classical READ BINARY and UPDATE BINARY commands,
  • Sample software and development kit for PC/SC available freely.

To ensure backward compatibility with earlier applications developed for CSB4, K531 or K632 using SpringProx API, this product may also be configured for « Legacy » operation.
