K531 & K632 + Antenna

OEM contactless module reader/writer with antenna

K531 is an ISO/IEC 14443 OEM module.

K632 is an ISO/IEC 14443 and 15693 OEM module.

They are suitable to read or write Philips MIFARE and DESFIRE leading products, as well any T=CL compliant tag or card from any other manufacturer.

Mounted on our rectangular antenna, K531 or K632 becomes a ready-to-use versatile contactless coupler, that can be embedded in virtually any kind of appliance : vending machine, card printer, access control gate, enrollment station and more.

K531 features

Contactless interface

  • PCD compliant with ISO/IEC 14443 (1, 2, 3 and 4, both A and B types),
  • T=CL protocol embedded in coupler's firmware (256-byte frames),
  • Supported contactless smartcards (partial list) :
    • NXP Mifare Classic & Mifare UltraLight, Desfire, ProX, SmartMX,
    • Infineon SLE66, STMicroelectronics ST19, Atmel AT88,
    • STMicroelectronics SR176 and SRiX, ASK CTS256B and CTS512B,
    • Inside PicoTag and HID iClass (serial number only),
    • Calypso (Innovatron radio protocol) (option),
    • NFC objects or mobile phones in 14443 card emulation mode.
  • 13.56MHz RFID transmission, baudrate 106, 212, 424 or 847 kbps,
  • NXP/Philips Semiconductors MfRC531 chipset featuring CRYPTO1 cipher unit with secure storage for Mifare keys,
  • Card operating distance : 0 to 7.5cm (depending on the card).

Antenna and interface

  • Small footprint antenna : 45mm x 69mm x 15mm,
  • Ferrite shielding between the antenna and the module,
  • 8-pin female connector (JST SHR-08V-S-B), only 4 wires required for normal operation (Vcc + Gnd + RX/TX),
  • Power supply : 5V DC, 150mA typical,
  • Extended temperature range (-20 to +80 °C).

K632 features

K531-TTL or K632-TTL

  • Serial communication at TTL level (RX/TX at 0/5V),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default), 115200bps or 9600bps.

K531-232 or K632-232

  • Serial communication according to RS-232 standard (RX/TX at +12/-12V),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default), 115200bps or 9600bps.
  • Note : K531-232 offers same functions as our desktop reader CSB4-S.

K531-485

  • Serial communication according to RS-485 standard (bus A/B),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default) or 9600bps.
  • Note : allows long distance operation.

Development and integration

  • Unified SpringProx API, available in the developer's kit (SDK for K531&K632) ; the SDK includes ANSI C source code, to be ported on virtually any target, and Windows binaries,
  • K531-232 : same platform as CSB4, thus allowing fast and easy development on a desktop computer,
  • Simplified ASCII command set for instant operation from inexpensive host microcontroller.
