K531 and Antenna

OEM contactless reader/writer module with antenna (ISO 14443)

K531 is a reader/writer compliant with RFID tags and contactless smartcards in the 13.56MHz band (ISO/IEC 14443 A & B standards), to be integrated in customer products (OEM module).

This page depicts products featuring the K531 and a versatile, ready-to-use and easy-to-integrate antenna. Three communication interfaces are available (RS-TTL, RS-232, RS-485).

Please refer to K531's page for detailed features. With the antennas depicted here, communication between coupler and card will be in the 0-7.5cm range (depending on the card).

Characteristics of the antenna

  • Small footprint antenna : 45mm x 69mm x 15mm,
  • Ferrite shielding between the antenna and the module,
  • 8-pin female connector (JST SHR-08V-S-B), only 4 wires required for normal operation (Vcc + Gnd + RX/TX for RS-TTL or RS-232, A/B for RS-485),
  • Operating distance : up to 7.5cm (depending on the card),
  • Power supply : 5V DC, 200mA peek, 150mA typical,
  • Extended temperature range (-20 to +80 °C).

Available versions

K531-TTL

  • Serial communication at TTL level (RX/TX at 0/5V),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default), 115200bps or 9600bps.

K531-232

  • Serial communication according to RS-232 standard (RX/TX at +12/-12V),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default), 115200bps or 9600bps.
  • Note : K531-232 offers same functions as our desktop reader CSB-4.4S.

K531-485

  • Serial communication according to RS-485 standard (bus A/B),
  • Baudrates : 38400bps (default) or 9600bps.
  • Note : suitable for long distance operation.
