Configuration software
The configuration software sq844p is a free application which will guide
you through the creation of your configuration card (also called master card) for your RFID scanner.
You'll just have to selet the right value for each proposed parameter and then create an associated .ini file :

Paste the copied selection in a text editor and save the file with the extension .ini in your hard drive.
Note : under Windows, it may simplify the next step if the file is saved in C:\Program Files\SpringCard\SQ844P
How to use UCKI632 for the RFID Scanners configuration
Principles
All our RFID Scanners are configured via one or more master cards. On-the-field configuration is as easy as presenting the master card in front of the reader, and holding it during 3 seconds.
UCKI632 is the package that will allow you to create these master cards.
Card acceptance templates
The SpringCard RFID Scanners are able to manage different kind of cards, and different sources of data on the card - ISO/IEC 14443 & 15693 protocols, raw data from memory cards such as Mifare and ICODE, data records from Desfire or any other T=CL smartcard...
A card acceptance template defines how the reader will identify the card to be read, and how it would get the actual data (serial number, block reading, file selection and reading, authentication keys to be used for Mifare or Desfire, etc). The template also defines which formatting is to be applied to the data (translation to ASCII or to Decimal, constant prefix or suffix, etc).
Each RFID Scanner is able to process up to 4 card acceptance templates simultaneously (+ 1 for master cards). This means that 4 different kinds of contactless cards can coexist on a single site, and can be read by a single SpringCard contactless reader or RFID scanner.
Creating your own master cards
- Download and install SQ844P configuration software,
- Download and install the Prox'N'Roll PC/SC driver (under Windows),
- Plug the Prox'N'Roll PC/SC to the PC and install it using the previously installed driver,
- Open the RFID Scanner configuration files editor (under Windows : Start Menu -> All Programs -> SpringCard -> Configuration Tools -> Configuration files creator),
- Create* your configuration file (.ini) and save it on your hard drive as described above in the paragraph "Configuration software",
- Put one of the Mifare Desfire 4k cards on your Prox'N'Roll PC/SC,
- Launch RFID Scanner master card creator software to program the card : under Windows,
- Launch Start Menu -> All Programs -> SpringCard -> Configuration Tools -> Configuration tools directory
- In the opened command window, type : cfgfilecreator.exe -c MyConfigFile.ini then enter
- Put the newly created master card on your RFID Scanner product, and voila.
*During the creation process, refer to the reference manual related to your actual product (Prox'N'Roll RFID Scanner, ProxRunner, FunkyGate or RDR-K632-TTL/232).
